BannerWomen Terms & Conditions
By joining BannerWomen, members have indicated that they agree to the
following Terms and Conditions. Compliance with the terms and conditions
ensures that only appropriate sites become BannerWomen network members and
that all network advertising meets BannerWomen standards.
Any account or member violating these terms will be immediately removed from
the BannerWomen ad network.
By joining, members have indicated agreement to the following:
- Members agree to insert the provided HTML code for displaying banners
on their website. The HTML code may not be modified in any way without
written permission from BannerWomen.
- The BannerWomen code MUST appear in the top screen shot. This also
means YOUR banner will appear in the most effective location on other
member sites in the network. No scrolling should be necessary to view
entire banner.
- A banner that appears on your site at any time may be a banner from
another member, from a paying non-member (helps us cover costs and
be able to run the network free for you), or from a banner promoting
BannerWomen (to build more exposure sources for your banner).
- Only one (1) BannerWomen banner may be placed on a page. A page is what
is displayed on one screen, so members who use frames must count all
individual pages in the frame as one page for banner placement purposes.
- A member may not artificially inflate traffic counts to her/his site
using any device, program, robot or other means. A banner cannot be
placed on a page which reloads automatically or auto-forwards to another
page via scripts or META tags. BannerWomen banners may not be placed in
newsgroups, email, chat rooms, guestbooks, or message boards unless
permission is granted from BannerWomen. Attempting to randomize the
uniqueness of the calling URL on each page pull is also considered to
be artifically inflating traffic counts.
- Any member caught artificially inflating traffic counts will be
terminated without notice.
- A member can only register page(s) which are linked into the structure
of their website. An example of "hidden" pages which are not acceptable
would be if your real home page is index.html, building a hidden page called
index2.htm that isn't really linked where users to your real site would be
visiting it. The point is to leverage pages on your site which receive traffic
and by placing the BannerWomen code on these pages, you earn free advertising to
get even more traffic to your site.
- A member's banner must conform to the program requirements: 468x60
pixels and total file size 8.0k or less. Animation is acceptable but please
note some browsers (i.e. AOL 3.0) do not support animation.
- BannerWomen reserves the right to refuse to continue membership to any Web site
in the BannerWomen network that contains or has links to nudity, sexual situations,
pornography, hate groups, illegal activities, offensive material or for any other reason.
- BannerWomen reserves the right to refuse to continue membership to any Web
site deemed to be competition, including, but not limited to, other banner exchange services.
- BannerWomen's name, logo, software, databases, reports (including
online reports), website, and information are proprietary and
protected under copyright laws. Written permission by
BannerWomen is required to use any of this information.
- Members agree that their website information (name, URL, traffic
counts, etc.) may be used by BannerWomen.
- The information members provide to BannerWomen will be kept confidential
and will not be distributed to any outside agency. An exception to
this would be in cases where potential non-member paying advertisers
are interested in a member site and want to know basic profile items
such as traffic, audience demographics, etc.
- Members agree to use BannerWomen at their own risk.
- BannerWomen makes every effort to verify and maintain a high standard of service
quality, but BannerWomen does not make any guarantees regarding the dependability
or accuracy of BannerWomen's services.
- BannerWomen will attempt to correct inconsistencies in exposure credits due any
member based on the member's proof of inconsistency.
- BannerWomen, its administrators, partners and sponsors cannot be held
liable for any damage or loss of information that may occur from the
use of BannerWomen services.
- BannerWomen reserves the right to modify, or change these Terms and
Conditions as it deems necessary. It is the member's responsibility to
keep current with the changes in the Terms and Conditions, since the
changes are effective for all members, regardless of when member joined.
Updates will be evident by the date modified at the bottom of this page.
